58Airtel Super Singer is an singing competition in Tamil Language airing on Star Vijay.
The program seeks to discover the best singing talent in Tamil Nadu through a series of statewide auditions.
The show is sponsored by the mobile service provider, Airtel
This year the show promises greater entertainment and this provides another golden chance for kids in the age group of 6-14 years to showcase their singing talent on a Vijay TV’s platform which is to be judged by the legends Chitra, Mano and Malgudi Suba.
Apart from gaining recognition from acclaimed names of the music industry and being a child singing icon, the Airtel Super Singer Junior 2 winner will be honored with prize money of Rs.25 lakhs.

Srinithi's elimination is not a digestable one. I don't think that Srikanth rocks. I accept that Srinisha rocks. She has a lots of Bhava than other contestants.

Srikanth, u r not eligible to get this prize. Actually the recipient should be Roshan. Sharath, Shravan and Prasanna Sundar sang very well. But u have been given this one lakh prize. This is the fault of Suchithra and Naresh Iyer.
Srikanth's songs are kaattu kathal type. He should learn how to sing melodies melodiously. He sings all songs like Kuthu Paattu. Awkward. Srinisha,Priyanka and Prasanna Sundar rock in this show.
Yesterday(15.3.2010)Srikanth did well. I liked his performance only yesterday. One thing I have to appreciate him is that he never reads the lyrics written in paper unlike some of his seniors Roshan, Sanjana, Sowmya ...... did. Good Srikanth. But I still say that this is a case of child abuse. His father's tension is fearful.
srikanth is a good singer but not a best singer. he still has to learn alot. His lyrics clarity is very good but still has to practise a lot.Roshan the best singer i dont know why they gave 1 lakh to srikanth. I really cannot digest this.I really dont know why srikanth's father is so tensed. Please relax and enjoy your son's singing.So horrible to see ur face in tv.you are so irritating.
Srikatnh's singing is not so good. I think the next person to be eliminated is him. There is no melody in his voice. He always shouts. Not eligible to be in the current rounds.
Shravan, alka and nithya shree's singing is good. I feel Shravan or Alka will win the title.

Srikanth must go. I think the judges are keeping him because they are afraid of his dad. Sahana should have stayed. I don't feel like watching the show because of Srikanth & Co. They irritate me.

This program is indeed one of the bests and its really astonishing to see and hear such small children sing, which indeed was not the case ealier years. But again, lots of cheap politics and favoritism makes the program irritating. How can experienced/professional/well recognized stage-performing singers be compared and made to compete with other singers. This blunder should have been take care of in the beginning itself. Those are small children and should not be left hurt like this. When its a competion and if one is willing to compete in the age group, then that person should be worth it to the higher level of the group as well. Just becoz the person is the youngest, it does not mean, that person can sing how that person wants and keep continuing in the program and lose other good singing competitors. Judges, pls dont judge on any bias, especially on language. Very clearly notable that malayalees are given more preferance.. aren't there enuf good singing tamilians in the competition? Pls have a conscience in ur judging.. All u young singers, whatever may be the result, u all have a great future ahead, and God will guide u in the right way with ur hard work.. keep up the good work..

Why this became a racial conflicts between malayalees and Tamils? As u know, these programmes are all for entertaintment and fun. I knew Sri kanth won't get the title but when he was eliminated, I teared too. He is too young to compete with the rest. Alot of u talk great about roshan. Just close ur eyes and listen ti him sing, u will think that's Sujatha, Chitra or janaki singing. He has a girl's voice! That's more disgusting to hear! I can say, taking age experience and talent on to account, shrikanth has a upper hand. Even though he is still young, much younger than roshan, srikanth can atleast cine close to and elderly singer. Roshan can't! He can give back up voice for female songs in movies! All of u listen, just shut the gap up and just watch the show!
I have very strong feeling that roshan or alka is going to win the title! Do u ppl know alka has already been producing her own song albums before she came into this competition? How can she can qualify at the first place? If you ppl say bias, that will be true if alka or roshan wins the title! If u ppl think that corruption or favourism has taken place, u should understand 1 thing, it's india. India is well known for corruption and under tables!
Airtel super singer is one of the best show in vijay tv and i like the judges very much bcoz they are unbelievable singers and i like alka very much she is one of the good singer among others and one request to judges plz dont eliminate alka. She s such a wonderful singer. I expect the next elimination will be Nithyasree.
i hate that nithyasree . a hundred old year granny has a better voice than her's. my favourite contestants are roshan and priyanka first. then i like srinisha prasanna shravan and alka. roshan is the best singer in the whole world . you are doing a fantastic job . when you are singing fast songs just sing it with a little pep. you have a very sweet and lovely voice. it's God's gift for you. you are the toughest competitor in the show. when i hear you singsometimes i get tears in my eyes. infact in singing you are the role model for me.all the very best roshan. do well in the coming rounds. i expect you to get spot selected. sing well roshan. all the best .

The best singers in this season are Priyanka, Sahana and Prasanna Sundar.
They really have a very good and sweet voice(Also very good attitude) when compared with Nithyasree and Sreenisha.
I think one of them should become the title winner.

Srikanth was not fit to be brought into the wild card and worst of all now they want him into the finals. Ultimately charm and childish attraction of Srikanth or the too-much for her age expressions of Nityasree will not woo people. Either Priyanka or Shravan should win. This will be true only then, otherwise it is politics.

the song sung by srikanth was good mean while it cannot be sung by everybody with the rythm and pitch perfectly rather than SPb but i think so in this age this guy have given the justice top the song. all the singers are good in airtel super singer but srikanth can be an entertainer and hope so he will run through the finals.

Srikanth is no doubt a gifted child, but People judge him by his size. This bias is wrong. In the first place they should not have grouped him with bigger children. Once he is there, the bias of age should never cloud the people's mind. The other competitors are better than him. Initially, srikanth was a pleasure to watch, but now I hate the whole thing. The father has been pressurising the poor child. The child has become a puppet, the father keeps miming and the child has now become some kind of a gimmicks artist. This is not good for the kids future. If you love the child, don't vote for him. Let him grow up normally. He has a lot of time in future.

I think shravan will win the super singer,He is the best.
Those who favor srikanth are not applying their mind for judging the correct singer. They see only his age and thus become unfit to judge the best singer. He sings well beyond our imagination for his small age, but this is not the criteria for judging the best singer. Judge should close his/her eyes and hear only the case(here the song). If the judge sees the personalities like age, caste, creed etc, judgment will go wrong. Hence judges close their eyes and only listen to case. Likewise, those who want to comment on singer, they should close their eyes (means not to see personalities) and write judgment on hearing songs only. I could see Ms.elizabeth 's comment as the correct one abt srikant.
srikanth is a little rockstar.In the age of six upto his level he is very talented and sings well like the other contestants and he gives a tough competition to the others.all the best to all 4 ur future.

The judgement announced by the judges were very very partial. The judges who were in the
dias have cheated the tamilians by giving irrelevant judgement.

Hey, Finally people made the right decision. Srikanth is doing great for his age. But he can't compete with the other 4 finalists. He is not even closer. Lately, he has become more annoying with his costumes and over acting. Srikanth's dad, if you are reading this please treat him like a 6 year old not a 16 or 26 year old.

Alka has all capabilities to sing. She is a perfect singer even better than many professional singers. Many professional singers have breath control problem. ALKA has a clean singing except for few tamil words pronounciations which she can correct as times goes by..
The first that I heard her voice in Vijay tv last July, I told my dad that day itself that she is going to be the title winner..as she has got all qualities of a perfect singer.
Talent should be recognized and not saying she is not from Tamilnadu and she is a Malayalee..
She falls under the junior category, the age was under their criteria. This program is to pick the right talents.
There was a partiality with respect to Srikanth and Nithyasree right from the beginning. There were many good singers like Priyanka, Sharath, Sowmiya etc..
